Why do people love Final Fantasy VII?
I myself love Final Fantasy VII, but when I really think about it, I’m not sure what makes its storyline–or the game in general–so emotionally engrossing. Could it be the fact that I played it at the beginning of my adolescence? But that’s certainly not the case for every other huge fan of the game. All I know is that even now–ten years later–the game still has a strong impact on me, and even listening to the music is overwhelming at times. I have a feeling the music matched the storyline very well, which enhanced the emotional reaction, but it’s still an enigma to me. I have no idea where the love stems from, so maybe you folks could give me some insight.
I think the relationship you created between yourself and the characters during those long hours of gameplay was the main turn on for me. The music and graphics were lovely at the time, but I think knowing the characters that well was the main reason I loved it.
